Wayzata MN 1st Place Girls Championship 5K Race - Roy Griak Cross Country Invitational 2023

Wayzata High from Minnesota captured the girls team title in the inaugural 5-kilometer championship race at the 37th Roy Griak Invitational with 118 points at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Wayzata, which won the gold race last season with 113 points, repeated at Roy Griak for the first time in program history, securing a third girls team crown overall, along with 2013. Jazleen Malherek-Osorio, a sophomore, finished 11th in 19:03.5, freshman Aubrey Smith took 32nd in 19:51.9, sophomore Miley Clark placed 34th in 19:52.8, junior Alyson Kleyman grabbed 36th in 19:55.3 and sophomore Chloe Kissell achieved 50th in 20:15.4 for the Trojans, who also had junior Julia Link capture 72nd in 20:36.6, seniors Carlee Freeman (21:19.7) and Lulu Knight (21:20.7) secure 146th and 148th, respectively, with sophomore Alexa Jones earning 158th place in 21:30.0 and junior Ava Scott rounding out the lineup in 238th place in 22:13.1.
